In particular, some of these ways are the plot line and the portrayal of both the characters and the camp. To conclude, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief book and movie are absolutely different in many ways. It also didn’t have the majestic feel that the cabin was described as having. It was wood, and only only had a few things to represent the sea. For example, the cabin Percy was in was supposed to be blue and green to represent Poseidon.
The cabins were supposed to all look different each representing a different god, but in the movie they were all very uniform.
In the book they received the pearls as a gift and they weren’t even that big of a deal.įinally the camp cabins do not look how they were described in the book. In the movie they go on the quest to find pearls that would help them get Percy’s mom back. In the book, Percy, Annabeth and Grover go on the quest so they can find the lightning bolt and get Percy’s mom back. In addition the plot lines of the book and the movie were almost completely different. It was a big part of the story that the demigods looked like their godly parents, but in the movie Annabeth had straight dark brown hair when she was supposed to have blond, wavy hair! For instance, the portrayal of the characters was inaccurate.
The two are so different that it’s hard to believe the screenplay writers even read the book before writing the movie. In other words, the movie was very awful compared to the book. The Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief movie was very disappointing after reading the book. You could also picture the big house, the main building in the camp, where the camp directors live, very easily. For example, you could picture each unique cabin very easily. I loved how vivid the descriptions of the characters and the camp were. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was a very good book. This happens because Hates takes her for ransom so Percy will bring him the Lightning Bolt and they have to go save her from the underworld. One of the similarities is how in both books they are trying to save Percy’s mother. I mean these similarities are not very important. Although they bear some minor similarities the difference between the Lightning Thief book and the Lightning Thief movie are the most prominent.īetween the Percy Jackson book and movie, there are mostly differences, but there are some small similarities.
